Greetings,

I have available for sale a men’s traditional 8-yard kilt made in Scotland by Lochcarron of Scotland (see link below). The kilt is in absolutely superb used condition and is free of any blemishes whatsoever. The kilt has only been worn on several occasions. As many of you are aware, I take great pride with all of my personal belongings, but especially with my Highland attire. The kilt has been properly hung with a 16 inch felt lined, wooden kilt hanger and stored in a breathable, linen garment bag with aromatic cedar blocks.

http://www.lochcarron.com/

The kilt has brand new black leather straps and the buckles are in superb condition, as is the fringing on the right-hand side of the front apron. To give an approximate idea of how the kilt will fit, I am 5’ 10” tall, about 160 pounds and of average build. The details of the kilt and size information are annotated below:

-Macpherson Red Modern tartan
-8-yards of 16 ounce, Lochcarron Strome heavyweight tartan
-Pleated to the double white line
-2 black leather straps with the standard number of holes
-2 standard, silver coloured buckles
-Double fringe on right-hand side of the outer apron
-Fully lined
-Two interior hanging loops
-No belt loops
-Completely handsewn
-Made in Scotland

Waist: 36 inches (adjustable to a couple of inches down and a couple of inches up)
Seat: 42 inches
Height: 23 inches (from very top to the selvedge)

I also have available for sale a pair of matching Argyll style tartan hose in the same colours as the Lochcarron Strome Macpherson Red Modern tartan. The hose are completely handmade and are 100% wool. They were made in Scotland by Kenneth Short Hosiery, a highly reputable maker of traditional Highland kilt hose (see link below) and supplier to the Scottish Regiments of the British Army. The hose are in superb used condition and have only been worn a couple of times. They are 100% blemish free and look and feel just as good as they did when they first arrived. The hose are a fully-fashioned (hence the slight seam on the back), bespoke item. The size details are annotated below:

Foot size: 10.5 US

Men’s Traditional 8-Yard Kilt by Balmoral Kilts and Highland Dress with Matching Argyll Style Tartan Hose by Kenneth Short Hosiery

Greetings,

I have available for sale a men’s traditional 8-yard kilt made in Scotland by Balmoral Kilts and Highland Dress (see link below).

The kilt only shows signs of wear with the leather straps, but they still look very good. If required, these can easily be replaced with brand new leather straps. All the buckles are in superb condition, as is the fringing on the right-hand side of the front apron. To give an approximate idea of how the kilt will fit, I am 5’ 10” tall, about 160 pounds and of average build. The details of the kilt and size information are annotated below:

-Macpherson Red Ancient tartan
-8-yards of 16 ounce, Lochcarron Strome heavyweight tartan
-Pleated to the double white line
-3 black leather straps with the standard number of holes
-3 standard, silver coloured buckles
-Double fringe on right-hand side of the outer apron
-Fully lined
-Two interior hanging loops
-No belt loops
-Completely handsewn
-Made in Scotland

Waist: 35.5 inches (adjustable to a couple of inches down and a couple of inches up)
Seat: 41.5 inches
Height: 22.5 inches (from very top to the selvedge)

http://www.balmoralkilts.com/

I also have available for sale a pair of matching Argyll style tartan hose in the same colours as the Lochcarron Strome Macpherson Red Ancient tartan.

Foot size: 10.5 US
Heel to top of the turnover: 15”
Calf circumference: 15.5”

I am selling the kilt and the hose together as a set. This is a wonderful opportunity to own a beautifully and expertly made traditional kilt with a matching pair of expertly made Argyll style tartan hose that if properly cared for, will last for generations to come. Please feel free to PM me if you have any questions, or if you are interested. Reasonable offers will be considered.

Greetings,

I currently have for sale 4 pairs of country socks/kilt hose featuring a chessboard patterned top. All of the hose are made in Scotland by House of Cheviot. They are made from a 4ply Merino wool/acrylic blend with a fully reinforced foot, which considerably extends the life and durability of the hose, making them a very smart investment.

Each pair of hose comes with a set of matching garter ties. The hose are all in superb, “like new” condition with each pair, except for the dusty pink/purple colour, being worn only one time. The dusty pink/purple coloured hose have never been worn. The hose are blemish free; i.e. - no stains, snags, stretching, loose threads, etc. This style of hose works particularly well with both country (shooting) clothing and Highland attire. The hose are machine washable on the delicate/gentle cycle in cool water, yet I always prefer to hand wash my hose with a wee bit of Woolite and cold water, then air dry (no tumble drying!).

All of the hose are a UK size small, despite me being a size 10.5 US. The reason for this is due to the overall hose length. If I ordered any type of House of Cheviot hose in my actual size of medium, the overall length of the hose would be entirely too long and practically swallow up my kneecap (obviously I have tried going that route already). The smaller size gives me approximately 2-3 finger widths of space between the very top of the hose turnover and the lower portion of my knee. I’m not sure why this is, as the size information really pertains to the actual foot size, but for some reason it works well this way. Also, I am 5’ 10” tall and of average build.

Details are annotated below the photos. Please feel free to PM me if you have any questions, or if you are interested. Thank you.
It's a Mk 2 MOD brass sporran cantle from the 1950s. I already have two of these so I walked past it a couple of times before buying it. I don't need or want another one but I know some X Markers who do.

It is fairly straight ... straighter than both of mine ... but has been repaired, apparently by re-silver soldering the hinges on to the rear of the front panel.
There is also a wee dent and, at this point, the riveted press-stud is a bit loose. If I were keeping it, I would chaise out the dent and peen the stud but it is perfectly usable as it is and anyone close enough to your sporran to see the wee dent is too close!

I have a Stillwater Standard in size 42, Weathered McKenzie tartan that I should sell. I say should since I've not worn it in at least 5 years. I"ve go to all wool kilts. There is absolutely nothing wrong with this kilt other than it's being unhappy about hanging in my closet for so long. Honestly, I think I only wore it about 4 or 5 times, and at least two of those times were to church. Maybe a couple of times to the office, and that's it. Obviously it's PV and you know the Stillwater reputation. I have no gripes, just don't wear it anymore. I also lost some weight so it is a bit loose on me. I'm also one of this guys that never got the hang of recording shows on a VHS, and I've never gotten the hang of posting photos on here either. If you don't know what this kilt looks like, then go to the SWK site and check it out there. With that said, I need $45 and I'll pay USPS within the US.
