24" Stillwater Length

For everyone who's got questions on the 24" length being too long, here's my take on it.

I'm 5'10 - 5'11" (depending on hair gel

)My legs are a tad on the short side but my torso is slightly long. If I neal on the floor and slide the kilt up until I have about 1" clearance between the floor and the selvedge, the top of the kilt rides about 1/2" above my naval.

It would seem to me that unless you prefer to wear the kilt below the belly and are as short as 5'10", you should be able to handle a 24" kilt.

I'm 5'7" and the Stillwater on me is at the lower ribs, like military kilts, while the selvege is just above mid knee. Actually, after a bit I found it quite comfortable.

I'm 6'1" and the SWK sit at the top of the knee and comes to just below the naval...which I think is real comfortable.

Me too and that's where it hits me. Just not comfortable with it there so I've printed out the thread on how to shorten a kilt and should have it done before the Long's Peak games in Sept.

I'm 5'11" in the morning and 5'10" at night. So I'm kind of Cavscout size. I think a 24 is just about perfect for me. I'm wearing a SWK BW heavyweight with my P.C. in my graduation photos that I put up yesterday. O'Neille

I'm 5'9 with a 32" inseam. The Stillwater kilts are the right length for me, as can be seen here...

God has such a sense of humor....I am SOOOO weird.

I'm 6'0" with a 30" inseam for pants.

If I kneel on the floor 24" comes out a full SIX INCHES above my naval....sorry...that just won't fit my weird shape.

Maybe they should change the name of their kilts from Stillwater to Highwater for me. That's way up there folks and if I added a belt it would certainly restrict my breathing.

So...maybe some day, if they ever offer custom lengths for us mishapen people, I'll try one. Until then, I gotta pass on their kilts.

My very longest kilt is 22 1/2" and that's too long for me.

Sure would like a brown ballistic nylon sporran though....

Don't feel so alone! It sounds like you're built just like my brother: more torso than leg. He's 6'4" with a 32" inseam. I'm 6'5" with a 36" inseam. SWKs would probably fit him like they do you, and they'd look like a mini-skirt on me worn at the proper height.

*shrug* And I'm 6'2" with a 34" inseam. For me, the SWKs are absolutely perfect. Top of the knee, right at the navel. While there is a lot of variation in the human body, the 24" length of the Stillwaters will fit just fine on the vast majority of people. And if it's off your ideal by a half inch or an inch? It's still more than worth the price, especially for the heavyweights.
