The Age Old Question

Those who go regimental need not read this, but for the rest of us I have a question.

What style of undergarment do you find most comfortable.
I realise that names/brands may vary with your area and Australia, but I find the brief type tend to be a little restrictive and sometimes 'ride up' when walking or sitting.
I'm trying the "boxer short" style at present.

What is your preferred type?
May I delicately say that another issue is ease of removal when a serious call of nature is heard.

ROTFLMAO....All I can suggest is (from what I've read) boxers are considered bad taste. Whatever you choose, they should 1. preferably be the same color as the kilt, 2. not reveal themselves (not if but) when the wind whips the pleats up a bit, 3. provide the support, comfort, freedom, cooling that you require/desire, 4. not be a complete embarrasment should some bold lassie go for better look. ie. black satin boxers with red hearts...out! Beyond that, its nobodys beeswax but yours and the misses'. Of course, I'm sure that DAvery would be only too happy to offer a suggestion or two. LMAO.......

This is why I wear my kilt while on pub crawls. Lift and go, and go back to drinking.

Graham -

This question was discussed to death on another forum some time ago, but the general concensus of opinion there was firstly, as Blu says, boxer shorts were considered v bad taste and, apart from anything else, actually provide less cover against accidental exposure than seems at first (consider gaping leg and fly openings).

There was an overwhelming majority in favour of what are known in the UK as slip briefs in a self-colour matching the kilt's main colour. In practical terms, being slightly lower waisted than ordinary briefs they sit just below the kilt's broad waist thus removal/replacement can be carried out without the hassle of considerable rearranging of the kilt. However, there are some whose physical shape, alas, precludes the wearing of this style and they just have to go with whatever fits.

My friend from Scotland told me he was part Irish so it was ok to wear drawers under his kilt! Ha Ha!
Well being part Irish myself I find the best thing is actually boxer briefs. They are comfortable and provide the support that hot summer days in Charleston demand. And they have a fly like regular briefs.

As a large framed man who like to be active
I have to say the compression short is my choice.
Similar to the kid many of the competitors wear in the
highland heavy athletics. The are several kinds but the
one that fit at your regular pants waist are quite comfortable
and don’t come down too far as to be seen with a light gust of wind.

Hey while we are on the subject, did anyone see what the
guy on the Sierra Mist commercial was wearing? I
think he must have been regimental. HA!

Down Under query from Graham, down under.

Hi Graham

When I really have to wear something, I stick to a brief, usually black. I did once try a cotton thong but this wasn't very comfortable. I must admit, I prefer regimantal.

Thanks for all your views, I realise this topic (and others, like headwear) has been raised on others sites but some here have not been to other sites. It's good to review some issues and ensure they have a presence on XMarks....IMHO

to brief or not to brief

Hi,
as stated on another post I'm new to this (New Year 2004) but I've found the best thing to be the elasticated type boxer. Like jockey shorts. Cottons best for ventilation and support.
Cheers Rhino
