Apron Pilling

I noticed some fabric "pilling" on my U.K. today. Granted, it's getting a little old, and some wear is natural. But as I await delivery of my traditional kilt, I was wondering if I can expect any exessive wear as a result of the sporran's contact with the front of the apron.

Has anyone experienced this? If so, is there a way to prevent it?

Until now I never had any pilling or wear on my traditionals...and I wear them often and always with a sporran.

Wear a leather strap instead of a chain and make sure the sporran and strap have no sharp edges and all will be fine

There is a recent thread on this forum somewhere (can't find it in the few minutes before I must leave for work) on the longevity of kilt materials. The issue of pilling if addressed there well.

If you have ever held and felt 13 or 16 oz worsted wool, it feels like coarse heavy canvas (not "fuzzy" at all). It should not pill at all, unless REALLY ABUSED by chain. A non-worsted wool will pill, but not bad.
