Best jacket for business attire?

I'm at a crossroads. I need to order a jacket to wear in business and semi-formal occasions, and I'm torn. I love the PC, but the Argyle is also very sharp looking.

I'd like the opinion of the forum, which would be better suited to wear in a business environment?

And, with your choice, who would you recommend as the best maker/vendor for said jacket.

There is no question, you should get the Argyle. PC vs. an Argyle jacket is the difference between a very nice suit and a tuxedo. Suits can be worn to a variety of functions, tuxedos are strickly formalwear. Also, I would get a waistcoat with your Argyle for when you need to dress it up.

I too would go with the Argyle, but a tweed version rather than the black wool, with silver buttons. The black w/ silver buttons still looks too formal for business attire. TFCK has some business attire jackets that might be "suitable".

I would go with the Argyle and of course get the waiste coat a vert sharp combo.

An Argyll jacket in Charcoal is probably the most versitile combination. As much as I love my lovat green tweed jacket, it is not the best for an occasion where the formal Argyll with silver buttons would not be quite appropriate -- and as Panache pointed out, the PC is for evening attire only.

So, to sum up -- a Charcoal Argyll Jacket (with waistcoat).

I find a black Argyle jacket goes well with a black kilt for Court and office work. No reason why it wouldn't also go with a tartan kilt.
