    Black watch and us navy

I am getting a SWK blackwatch thrifty kilt to wear around on weekends and I was wondering what the harm would be to use my old navy rank badge as a kilt pin?

As well what about wearing several pins in a column, from the lower right and follow the edge of the kilt up with several military/civilain pins? Not for formal but for easy going decoration.

The only harm I can see, Shipmate, is if you forget to put the frogs on and stick yourself. Your kilt, your pins. Do what you'd like. It might not be to everyone's taste, but in the end, it's up to you.

Thanks for your service, from a former SWCC.

If it were me (which it's not), I think I'd opt for just one pin on the kilt, and wear the rest on my hat or vest or something else. I'm not a big fan of multiple puncture wounds to my tartan.

I would have to agree with Pete. But the main reason for kilt pins is to weight the flap down so it doesn't flip or blow up exposing you to the public. So putting a line of pins there could be a bit much. But again, your kilt your decision.
If you can avoid it never get into a fair fight.

See how you think it looks. I would just rotate the pins each time I wore the kilt, rather than all at once. Whatever you do, do it with pride. Thanks too, for your service.

The only harm you could do is if the pins caught on something and tore the fabric. It is your kilt and your style - go for it.
