    Brown Kilt Belts?

    Hi All,

Stillwater kilts doesn't currently have their brown kilt belts in stock. I was wondering if any one had any suggestions for other sources? Preferably I'm looking for a belt that I can add a kilt buckle to. Lots of black belts out there, not a whole lot of options for brown.

    Thanks and Cheers

What I did was take a standard black leather kilt belt I had and spray painted it with several coats of brown paint. You may be able to find brown leather dye in a spray can at some automotive supply places. You have to wait for the paint to dry for at least 24 hours before wearing it.

I also converted a plain black sporran into a brown one the same way. Had some pictures posted a while back but they were on my old computer unfortunately
    and are now lost.

I think I may be the only one so far to try this. It may sound a bit silly but it works for me and I'll probably do it again in future.

How about Pelican Point Trading Company? Looks like they will make anything.

    Brown Belt

For a casual brown belt I'd try anyplace that handles Buzz Kidder's wares. http://giftshop.scottishtartans.org/ lists them. I'm planning on riding to Bisbee this weekend and see if I can get one from the source. I like the single row of buckle holes and that gives an opportunity to use a different buckle. O'Neille

Try the Mexican beltmakers at San Jose Flea Market. They'll make anything if you show them what you want!

Panache, I think the Flea Market may be a great option. I've been to the Pike Place Market and spoken with a few Leather folks. I haven't done anything yet...can't decide

Here's a link to a more tradition look:

    I hope it helps

    Howdy from hot Davis Panache,
I highly recommend the work of Rudi at Celtic Empire. The link above should take you to the Litchfield belt I bought. Rudy was great to talk to on the phone and the quality of work and service is excellent. Also take a look at the sporrans he offers. Happy hunting, Charlie
