    Budget kilt

Has anyone here bought a budget kilt from Shetland Piper? If so, what is your opinion of it? I'm considering getting one for general wear.

The Budget Kilt will work fine. Just be careful to get one in your true waist size, and not to pull it too tight. (It'll rip apart the pleats and you'll have to pay my wife to fix the damage.)

I've had very good service from Shetland Piper when I have ordered products from them in the past, but I've not bought a budget kilt only a great kilt. Let us know how you like it!

I bought a budget kilt. Didn't like it. The material is too loosely woven and the finnishing is poor. It was a costume piece at best. I gave it away. I like the folks at Shetland Piper. I've been happy with everthing else I bought from them, but not the budget kilt. Get a USA kilt from Jimmy, it won't cost much more and you'll have a garment not a costume. I don't have a Bear kilt but I suspect that those who do will probably say the same about his stuff.

bikercelt, I was just kicking the idea around for something I wouldn't sweat about getting grubby, I guess if it's that seedy I'll take a pass.

I know someone on Kiltmen.com last summer said that they bought one, and it fell apart on them pretty soon after they bought it.

I was thinking of getting one, until I heard some experiences like this.

Don't throw good money after bad - so to speak. Save your extra sheckles and get something decent from Bear or Chris at Cheapkilts.

Maybe I'll make one out of pleather. I could just hose it off when it gets filthy
