Cheapo eBay Kilts

I was curious and flipping through eBay for kilts just to see what was available and came up with this:

Most I can tell about the cheapie eBay kilts is that they are (1) acrylic (2) come in tartans I wouldn't touch personally.

Any comments on these things?

At the price I'm sure they're complete garbage...but, its possible they're not. I've oft thought of purchasing one for "who cares what happens to it" type wear.

wow, that's even cheaper than the $60 ones I see on there usually. Very curious, it couldn't be any worse than the awful looks-like-a-flannel-shirt-with-the-arms-cut-off "kilts" they sell at some of the Scottish Festival booths...could it?

They're pretty much the same thing Stillwater sells. The guy has a 100 percent positive rating with over 32,000 transactions. He must be doing SOMETHING right.

Stillwater quality kilts for less than an already incredibly inexpensive stillwater....I think I'm going to have to risk purchasing one for a kick-around

It would seem 99% of them are "girls" kilts. Is the only diff between the mens and womens the waist size and length? Because they both say genuine kilt. The darn girl's ones are the only ones in my size lol.

I've bought from Frefonline before. His sporrans are really quite good quality but his cheaper kilts are very very very light and, often, don't have the fell sewn in.

I'd say go for a stillwater.

I've bought good pv and acrylic kilts from ebay and some I've regretted. It's hit or miss.

I have one kilt from that seller and found that there are economy kilts from other sellers that I think are better.

I enjoy economy kilts for given purposes.

“Cheapo”, “cheapie” and “things” are not words that I would use to describe them.
