    Does this kilt fit correctly?

    I measure 38w, 42h and take a 22.5" total length kilt.

This one is brand new, in a tartan of my clan, 37w, 44h and 22.5" long. And half off since it was made for someone else.

I just took the basting stitches out Thursday night. My wife likes it. I don't mind the motivation to keep my waist from getting any bigger. I think I am going to keep it unless someone sees something glaringly wrong. Other than the oil spot on my Tshirt and my dysmorphic visage I mean. Glaringly wrong with the kilt.

It looks like it fits fine from the photos, congratulations on the new kilt.

It looks fine from what I can see. Other than the fact that it lacks a bit of color, but I'm a Buchanan so a bit partial in that direction.
Look at Scottish guys wearing kilts - you could look at them and laugh, but the way they carry themselves, how can you? If you believe in it, that's what makes it cool.Andre Benjamin - American Rapper (formerly known as Dre) Songwriter and Musician

Looks like an amazingly good fit. Just a suggestion, though, to loosen the hip buckle so that the kilt doesn't pull across the front. If you can't make it looser, it's an easy job to move the buckle or even take the buckle and strap off altogether. You don't really need it!

It may just be the way you're standing but the lower right hand strap looks to be pulled too tight. Loosening it a hole or two should fix that. Otherwise it looks fine

Aye, I would loosen it a tad so it's not pulling the pleats open on the side. Other than that, it's a grand fit!

    To echo--

Looks to be pulling a little in the first photo. That can be fixed. Otherwise, spot-on! Enjoy!

I agree that it looks to pulling accross the front. Either loosen the buckles, move the buckles or use strap extenders. All in all a great looking kilt. What is the tartan?

Re: Does this kilt fit correctly?

Based on the OP's measurements, it might be a case of loosening the waist a hole rather than the hips...
Note to self: Must remember the pleaty bit goes at the back...
