Outside the box genius for sure. Guessing the wet weight helpe pull the pleats straight.
Timed myself to see how long it took to attach weighted clips once. Was about two minutes working casually.
Great idea though

Yes, the weight of the waist pulled like a small rock.
Two minutes..WOW. Part of the problem that I had was getting enough pinned up at first to hold it on the line while I pinned up the the rest. The second problem for me was I am not used to the pleat pattern on this. There are a few reverses in the pleats. Basically, I ended up just rough pinning it to hold it then I started at one and and repined it to hold the pleats as they would hang.
I pulled this kilt out today to see what it looked like on the hanger. It is great. I have found my method for drying and maintaining the pleats on my Utilikilt.

This is not a criticism -- merely an observation... But it seems like hanging a kilt in that manner would actually take longer than drying it any other way and then just pulling out the ol' steam iron and ironing it. (At least for me, I've learned to iron clothes fairly quickly and efficiently, lol)... I count almost 30 clothespins in the pic and I imagine you did it fairly carefully so as not to mung up the pleats...
