First time in public in an SWK 2morrow

Though I have had an SWK Nightstalker for almost a month, I have not worn it out of the house. I have really enjoyed the Utilikilts, but have been afraid of not having enough traditional accouterments to pull off a real kilt.

So tomorrow I am going to put it out there. I hope that after wearing and being seen in a real kilt I will feel the need for the right flashes, hose, shirt and bigger sporran. I will wear a black or white polo with matching socks, or maybe the cream hose (pictured.) I will skip the kilt belt, but will need to make a sporran belt.

Question is black boots or Doc Marten Wingtips?

I prefer the black boots. Either are fine.

with the white polo , I might suggest the Doc Wing Tips... I been looking at some in all black.. but we will see... I may just stay with regular wingtips. and spruce them up with the flaps...
Good Look on your grand adventure.. I know when I stepped out for the first time.. I was ready for anything... and basically nothing happened...LOL.. I was worried about nothing... enjoy your day.. and by the way.. the sporran strap for us big guys, is available with Jerry and SWK, for something like $25,00

I'd say the boots, with the black polo and matching black hose, good luck with it, let us know how it goes. Bonus points for photos.

I vote the Doc wingtips. The dark kilt and white polo with white hose and the two-tone shoes will make quite a good look. Update with pics of what you choose to wear.

If I were to do it again...

I would have bought all black wingtips. My kids laugh at the black/white. They standout.

Nah, nah, nah... "They stand out" <-- just the thing for a kiltie to wear.

I forget so easily how straightforward it is for me to wear a kilt in public in the UK!

Though I wear it infrequently in Northumberland, I live about 30 miles south of the border, I ALWAYS wear it when I cross over going north, often AT the border, either on the Selkirk or the Berwick roads!

    Best of luck, mate!

    You're doing your ancestors proud!
