flashes color question
What color (solid) flashes do ya'll suggest for my baird modern kilt? I was thinking of a nice dark green that matches the green in the kilt. I can't find a real good pic of the tartan on the net, most of them make the colors look lighter than they really are. This is pretty close though.

Dark green, navy blue or black flashes will look good with your tartan. The color of your kilt hose may very well be the determining factor in your final selection. You have several kilt hose options dark green, navy blue, cream or oatmeal.

Might I suggest bringing out the most limited colour in the tartan? I'm not sure what it is called but it looks purpleish or crimson like.

So, if its not too late just ask the kiltmaker to make up a pair of flashes from the tartan.
Best way to obtain flashes is to have them made up with the kilt, from the same tartan.

Yep, I'm like Ron. I like to go with tartan flashes if at all possible.

Its supposed to be purple but in real life its more of a red/purple than that picture. Heck, every color is darker than those in the picture. I already own the kilt so having them all made at the same time is out of the question. I have cream hose and might be getting more later. My cheap butt is making the flashes is why I asked. I wanted to match the purple but can't find a ribbon close to it in the fabric store here and I think they are tired of the weirdo walking in once a week in the kilt, lol.

I have found that my solid black flashes from sportkilt have served well with every kilt I've worn. They don't draw a crazy amount of attention and they function well.
... but they are the only flashes I've had, so let's hear what the others have to say ... ;)
