    help pick Magnus' next tartan

Not blackwatch (that will be the one after this one...)

Right now I've got Scottish National and Royal Stewart. The Royal Stewart will do for more festive occasions but is a bit bright for my liking. I like something a bit more subdued.

Most of my wardrobe is black, green, and a little red. Would prefer something that goes with this.

Would like something that is distinct enough from the two that I already have to be easily distinguishable to someone who doesn't know their tartans.

Here are some pics of me in the kilts I already have to help picture what tartans will work or not work.

How about the Stewart Black (Stewart Mourning on USA site).

It might be a little too close to the Black Watch for you, but it sounds like Macinlay modern or Armstrong might work. Think Black watch with a red overplaid.

Personally, magnus, I like Black Stewart alot... it's a BEAUTIFUL tartan. If you are willing to give stillwaterkilts.com a try, I'd go with "nightstalker" it's duly beautifull as well.

Fight and you may die. Run, and you'll live. At least a while. And dying in your beds, many years from now, would you be willing to trade all the days from this day to that... for one chance... just ONE CHANCE to come back here and tell our enemies that they may take out lives, but they will never take OUR FREEDOM!!!

It sounds like Black Stewart is taking the lead so far. And yes it looks dandy. I could see myself in that.

As for Stillwater... I dunno... I've got some friends here locally who have made a few kilts before and seem to do a good job at a fair price.

I like Black Stewart as well, but Rocky's Thompson kilt was looking sharp in those pics...

Black Stewart... without a doubt one of the classiest tartans around. Some day I will own a Black Stewart kilt.

Personally I like all the hunting tartans, especially hunting stewart, but hunting maclean is really sharp.
