    hose and flashes

I am looking into buying a pair of flashes for my Gordon kilt. I have navy blue hose but I was wondering which color of flashes would be best.

The simple answer is "whatever colour you want." You can't go wrong with red, though. I would avoid tartan.

Red or yellow are always safe choices and both look good with a Gordon.

    Look to HRH for advice

To answer your question succinctly: red, green, or yellow if you are going for the traditional and/or matching look (red being the traditional military garter color).

What color could or should you wear...totally up to you as has already been said. Why I really wanted to post was a general concern navy blue hose with the Gordon tartan. I'm not opposed to it, but just be aware of being too monochrome or matching too much. I went back to pics of HRH the Prince of Wales pics I had in my collection and pulled some pics to show what hose he wears with his Gordon tartan kilt. You'll note that he chooses lighter colors to provide some contrast. I really like the diced cuffs...also helps to break the monochromatism (probably not a word...but I just made it one!). Just some food for thought...

    longhunter74,
I've said it before and I'll say it again here. HRH Prince Charles is one heck of a dresser! Thanks for the reference pix, he's certainly my visual guide for dressing. Now if I could just afford his tailor
