I've found each of thse sites helpful in my quest to figure out how to don a Great Kilt.

    http://www.lindaclifford.com/GreatKiltWrap.html

Of course, as my brother-in-law used to say, "practice makes better."

My mind wanders, but don't worry. It's weak and can't get very far.

    MrBill

He is a VERY small guy. I've seen that before.

His method would NOT work on 6'1" 200 pound me.

The drawsting method is historically probable:
    http://albanach.org/drawstring.htm

Otherwise, many of the methods are pretty much the:
    1. lay material on ground
    2. put belt wear waist is (slide under fabric)-align to bottom at knee or above
    3: hand gather so:
    -right apron=1/2 body diameter
    -gathered area=1/2 body diameter
    -left apron=1/2 body diameter
    4. lay down so backside over gathers and belt at waist
    5. pull right hand (as laying down) over to left
    6. pull left hand apron over right (so top edge is on right hip)
    buckle belt
(up to here-> draw string would be easier- slide belt/rope through loops and gather-> make front aprons as above-> put a wide belt over aprons and around waist)

Play with various to arangements to see what like.

    A few good ones:
    http://www.xmarksthescot.com/forum/s...t=belted+plaid

Also-> tie upper corners together and put behind neck,
pull back up, so makes rain cover
