Ironing a PV Kilt

Do you use a regular, wool top, pressing ham, Wizard?

Ted, A Ham is only used when ironing and pressing curved surfaces.
What we have been discussing in this thread is pressing and ironing while the pleats or hem is laying flat.

I do have Hams in the shop. I use them mostly when pressing Jackets. The shoulder seams, the lapels, and sleeve cuffs are the most common areas.

So, when pressing pleats, no, a Ham is not used. In my shop we have flat tables. Each is 3'X5' and of a height to allow us to use our full body weight on the handle of the iron to achieve the pressure needed to press tight, hard creases. The tables are covered with a washable cover that has an aluminum heat resistant coating similar to that found on a home ironing board.
