    Question It's almost summer!

I did a search for summer and didn't see a thread about how to wear the kilt during the hot weather. I'm really hot natured and my high boots aren't comfortable in the summer time.

How do ya'll wear your kilts in the summer time? Do you still use the high socks or boots?

    Thanks for taking the time!
    Thanks!

If it's important, like a performance, yep - sure do. Everything. Then it's "suck it up buttercup".

I generally wear shorter yardage kilts in the summer 4-5 yards, and PV helps if it is extremely hot, I almost always wear my hose up with flashes/garter ties.

It's a splendid opportunity to get that tartan hose look without the expense of buying actual tartan hose.

Just go to your local art supply and pick up a few jars of tempera paint in your clan colors and carefully paint the tartan on your naked legs...don't forget to do nice cuffs below the knee and paint on your flashes. Grab a pair of cheap slip on tennis shoes and paint them up to look like ghillie brogues while you're at it.

No muss, no fuss...you'll look great unless it rains.

I love it. I should just go to the local art college and get some of the lassie students to do it for me!
    Thanks!

Almost? It's 109 degrees for a high today.

    I think summer is here.

I usually forgo the high kilt hose in summer and wear Smartwool socks scrunched down. Sometimes I leave the belt off as well. IMO, those two accessories are the biggest culprits to being over heated in a kilt. I've found that the kilt itself is not the cause of feeling too hot in the summer.

I saw this mentioned before, but if you do want the sock look. Go to your athlectic store and get soccer socks. They are thinner yet not to thin.

In the summer I stick to my Sport Kilts, lighter kilt hose & plain low-cut shoes.

If this is the men's department, where are the kilts?
