Thanks guys, I appreciate the help.
You know, when you think about it, it's amazing what a bunch of guys are willing to talk about. I guess that's one of the things I appreciate about this forum.

I have to add my concurrence here. I must say that I have always worn underwear with my wool kilts as they are not washable. My pv's are about 50/50.

Back to the subject at hand, I never wear underwear, and have never had that problem. Even after wearing one (PV) kilt for 5 months straight while hiking, only washing it every two to four weeks. The only reason it got dirty was sweat.

Some "visionary" with little else to do, and obviously too much free funds, has developed something for the kilt-wearing man. It doesn't necessarily help with the... um... end of the problem that we're addressing here, but it's interesting.
It seems that there's a problem with the dirt and grit being whisked-up the kilts with the winds. This small, granular material (apparently) is collecting in areas that are sensitive.
