You know the lewis hose look great, I was just wondering about the warmth factor, lewis hose might be too heavy, just a thought.

Thanks, you folks agree with my lady...so purple it will be. Thanks.

The Lewis hose seem cooler to me than the regular hose, a bit less wool I guess. Have been wearing them into the 80s F.

Temps up on the mountain will be in the 40s and 50s at night and 70s during the day this weekend - if the weather guessers are right - so should be fine.

Ron, you do not need advice from me! However, I would add one thing: Whilst I agree with the majority, puple hose DOES look so good with the IoS kilt, I have a feeling that if worn with the shirt you describe, you will look unbalanced ....... visually, I mean!

The kilt is dark, the hose is dark, your footwear is probably dark (it should be!) and so from the waist down you will be 'heavy' with nothing dark to balance it above the waist. Can you perhaps wear an open waistcoat (sorry, vest)? Alternatively, I think I would be considering a mossy-green shirt/polo/whatever in place of the white one.

    Just me, ol' pal!!

The kilts just make us more aware and proud of what we look like. Not a thing in the world wrong with that.
Now, now, we're not hens. Typically in nature, the male of the species is the most resplendent. Think peacocks.

    Thanks Ham,

That's what my lady suggested (the vest)...the shirt is so frilly and open it kind of overpowered the vest...so maybe a change of shirt is the answer.

I'm with the purple crowd. I would also suggest gray flashes in stead of IOS.

    Have fun
