If you have your kilt on and you can't tell if you're wearing kilt hose or tights
then your kilt is too long

This is just my personal opinion but...

Tights, longjohns, or other close fitting legwear is fine and functional under trousers but I would personally never wear them with a kilt. If it's too cold for a kilt with kilthose, then it's too cold for the kilt - period.

This topic has been discussed previously and my opinion has not changed.

I agree with Blu, long johns don't look good under a traditional tartan kilt.
Under a UK with big scrunchy socks and work boots is ok.....if you're under 30 and can pull off that whole "Seattle grunge" look.
Some folks can....I on the other hand cannot.

    Not for me.

HOWEVER, my lady used to have a plaid wool skirt cut on the bias, rather than straight across like a kilt and she sometimes used to wear cable knit "panty hose" with the skirt...and classy brown shoes and it looked great.

It was hotter than blazes, though.

As I've previously mentioned, I've slept outdoors on the snow in a belted plaid.

If you're cold, cover your head, your arms, your legs from the knee down, and your torso. You'll lose the most heat through your head, followed by your lower arms and lower legs (blood passing through the wrists and ankles loses heat to the skin)

If you're going to wear tights or hose, why not just wear pants?
