You might check the ratio of waist to hip as often for a girl they are more the shape of a small man than a small woman.

My 11 year old daughter is bugging me for a skirt in the Scottish national tartan. She doesn't like the style of the kilt at all. My wife has a Sport Kilt kilt skirt, and my daughter doesn't like it nearly as well as she does the mini skirt. Hope that helps a littls.

Thanks to all that replied. I bought my daughter a SWK youth kilt in the Irish National Tartan. It's a Christmas present, so I'll post photos later.

She will surely love it (and it will not be too short for someone her age, as some of the "billie kilts" and mini-kilts I've seen). Great choice!
