I used to be a 30 waist until a couple of years ago, when I ballooned up to a 36 within literally a couple of months. It's really strange as my diet or living habits haven't changed. I can only assume it's my metabolism as I'm now in my latter-30's. Adopting a healthier lifestyle has brought me back down to my current 'fat' 32. I very much doubt I'll get back to my svelte 30 waist.

This is my main concern. I can fasten the buckle on the left but cannot get the strap on the right to even touch its buckle. If I use extenders I will definately have lots of under apron showing.
I was wondering if I could undo the last pleat on the left to give me that extra couple of inches without ruining the look of the kilt. I haven't had a proper look to see if this is viable - just an idea.
