Kilts on the way, sporran in queue (almost) now I need hose

My kilt is MacLellan Ancient in 16oz Strome with matching flashes.

I have heard Bottle Green Hose would look great. The order is pending on a Buffalo Black Thorfinn from Turpin and I have the Doc Martens in the closet. What color hose should I get?

I'm loathe to give advice on what colour of socks to wear with the kilt, because the answer is really just about any colour you like! With one exception, of course.

In your case, the lovat greens and blues would be nice, as would richer shades of blue, yellow, red, and most shades of green. Slate blue with salmon dicing would look splendid!

There's so many colors in that tartan that I don't think you could go wrong with any of them. I say match (or contrast) the hose to the shirt you're wearing that night.

Yeah I'd agree with that...either match with the shirt, or match with the green or blue in the tartan.

Monitors can complicate color comparision, but I do have a pair of Lewis Kilt Hose in Ancient Blue and it looks like it would pick up the blue in your tartan very well.

I really like those!! I am thinking maybe some red or dark blue \ green ones to go with my wilson modern 8 yard.

Seriously- pick a color hose that will bring out a color in the tartan. I have a nice pair of forest green sox that I wear with my Colorado state tartan. The sox really bring out the green in the tartan, and they look magnificent together. So my advice is to figure out which color you like best and match hose to that color.
