    Lightweight wool kilt on Gumtree

There's an ad for a lightweight wool kilt in Edinburgh , on Gumtree. It's a Menzies (black and white) tartan, 36-38" waist, and the asking price is 15 GBP.
Unfortunately for me, I found out from the seller that it's 28" long. That's too long for me, but perhaps just what somebody out there needs.
    Here's the link:

    Cheers,
    John

If I were a betting man I'd put my money on it being a pleated skirt, not a man's kilt.
    Giveaways - lightweight, 28" long.

Likely a dancers kilt or ladies kilt skirt. Menzies B&W is typically a dress tartan used for dancer's kilts and dress skirts, mostly for women, and contains a fair amount of white in the tartan. Typically find lots of Menzies varieties on the highland dancers websites. I did not see in the ad that it mentioned a length, but if it really is 28" long overall it is as Tony states above likely a women's skirt. I am 6'5 tall and my overall drop on a traditional style kilt is only 26", and according to most of the kiltmakers I have talked with that is about as big as most have ever made or seen, except in very special circumstances. To need an overall 28" drop would mean you would likely have to be closing in on 7 fee tall or have some very long legs and lower torso disproportionalte to the remainder of your body.
