Need advice on what or what not to wear

A bit off thread but relevant to Sandy's posted photo of the clan gathering of the MacLeans above. I previously commented on the beauty and uniqueness of the tartan the furthest left gentleman (behind the woman with the blue jumper) and assumed it was some weathered form of the MacLean of Duart Hunting tartan, as it appeared to have the same sett with a weathered coloration pattern. However I have since NOT been able in any listing I can find locate a tartan with that particular appearence, as none list a weathered MacLean of Duart Hunting tartan anywhere, nor any other MacLean or MacLean of Duart with this colorset. Am I mistaken as to the pattern of tartan in this case, or could this be a one-off unique weave colorset for this gentleman alone and not found anywhere else? I also love his matching balmoral with the same weathered colors in the dicing, and somewhat long for a similar one, although I cannot find that anywhere else, unless it is custom ordered from a specialty hatmaker.

Sorry about threadjacking, but this sure has gotten the curiosity of the cat in me stirred.

Maclean of Dochgarroch's kilt is quite interesting. I would have to assume the cloth was woven specially.

BTW, I bought a new Balmoral from Glengarry Hats of Canada and the quality is not too bad. Maybe not quite what you would find from Scotland but I am on a bit of a budget so I have to buy the best i can afford. I will take your advice and soak it in cold water and then shape it.
