Need help and/or advice
Last week my wife and I celebrated our 20th wedding anniversary. I bought her a diamond "past, present and future" necklace + 2 beers & pizza (cheap dinner date), she bought me a bottle of cask strength Laphroig and then said my "other" gift would be my choice of tartans for a new kilt. That left me with several hundred choices and so I narrowed it down to two. The Highland Granite or the Saltire (pleated to the flag). I can't make up my mind so I thought I'd let you help me out with this.
Please help, cause the longer I take to decide........the longer it will take to get the kilt. ??:

Lucky you!!!
I'd definately go for the Granite. It looks really good, is a bit more unusual at the moment and would be far more adaptable than the Saltire. I'm all for promoting the cause, but .....
Hope it works out well

If I had a choice between only those two, I would take the Highland Granite tartan in a hot second.
PS: Congrats on your 20th!!!!!

Congrats. Personnally I like the Saltire, which I assume is the tartan kilt with the pleats forming the saltire http://www.saltiretartan.com/kilts.html

I'd definitely go with the Highland Granite. The saltire kilt is nice, but seems rather "faddish" to me. In other words, when you celebrate your 40th anniversary, your Highland Granite kilt won't seem dated. :-) Go with the one that will be in style a generation from now.

Congratulations to you both of making your 20th Anniversary. Well done!
As for your choice: I'd agree with those ahead of me - The Highland Granite is a beautiful tartan which can be worn formally or informally. The Saltire, on the other hand, whilst holding a slight attraction for me, is something of a 'novelty' tartan. I have seen it being worn and it is truly effective when those pleats are swinging, but I still see it as a 'fun' kilt and not one to be taken seriously.

Congratulations on your Anniversary!
The Highland Granite Tartan will make a very attractive kilt you will enjoy and receive compliments on for years to come. A kilt is an investment for the long haul.
