    New guy here...Hi all

Was wondering if anyone can point me in the direction of a sporty type kilt in the Taylor tartan? I am an athlete so the light weight, low maintanence, easy to get tacky off of variety would be best.

Thanks in advance..and great site here. Hope to get to know you are in the future and see some of you at some of the West coast games

Well, the two places I thought of looking did not have the Taylor tartan. You might check http://www.kiltstore.net link listed above.

And, 1,000 welcomes to the board from Snellville Georgia!

    Welcome to the neighborhood

You may have to get the tartan specially woven for you. This may require a hefty initial purchase no mater what material you choose to get (wool, PV or acrylic) (minimum yardage to weave a rare tartan).

Because of this I'd try Matt Newsome at the Scottish Tartans Museum

    or Alexis Malcom

I believe they both offer "light" weight kilts but I'd imagine they would be wool so that would rule out throwing it in the washing machine as you would a PV kilt.

Cletic Croft, offers some economy kilts that might be an option.

Theres a lot of options really but since no one carries the Taylor tartan, your first challenge is finding someone who can get the tartan in your desired material. Call Matt first as he can provide you A LOT of information about your options and possibilities.

    Welcome!

Won't Seamus do a sport kilt in any fabric if you provide it? Could find a nice light PV in Taylor and have a sport kilt made.

    Hello and welcome from Scotland.
As far as getting it in a Taylor it'll cost a bit for either you or the kilt-maket to get the fabric. Aside from that, you might try going to SportKilts
You can get a decently priced, light-weight kilt there fairly easily.
