IMHO the above may be the reason it seems "long", BUT IMHO it is not a problem.

BTW I personally wear mine @ the top of my knees.or a hair longer in the case of a couple.

ENJOY & congrats on the FIND

I finally got a kilt altered to hit me right at the top of my knees and ya know -- it feels short. Like uncomfortably short. I don't know why. I've seen pictures, and it looks fine. It just feels, well, like I'm more out there than I wanna be. So I guess all my kilts that I worry are an inch too long are probably just right for my comfort.

The lenght is right, even if a little to the long side in my opinion. Personally I should have preferred it about one inch shorter, but I have kilts that length, too, which I do happily wear.

I think it looks fine, I have one that hits above the knee and it feels uncomfortably short... I prefer the center of the knee myself, and at 6'2" I guess I worry about fitting me like a skirt and not a kilt. Justy opinion on my comfort.

I have it about 1.5 inches above the navel I suppose. I could pull it up a tad.
    Thanks everyone.

I was just wondering if I should order my next kilt at 24 inches, same as the length on this one.

I like. I usually wear my kilts onto mid-knee as I REALLY dislike my kilt hanging above my knees or at the top of em :S

My sentiments exactly. If it comfortable, wear it On the other hand I wouldn't go much past the knee's, but that my own personal tast.

    I concur with Glassman,
Although it is within the normal, permissible length, ideally I prefer mine to hit around the top of the knee, or just a wee bit lower.

Nothing what so ever to lose any sleep over mind you. It looks perfectly fine.

My kilts are a standard 24" length as it would happen. I measured from navel to mid knee cap and that's the measurement I got. When I wear it formally (ie with Argyll etc) I pull it up so that the selvedge comfortably hits the top of my knee and when I wear it casually I let the straps loosen a little so the kilt falls to mid knee.

There's really not a lot of difference in the distance from top of knee to mid-knee (about an inch on me) so I wouldn't worry about the exactness of it. It might move that much over the hours you wear it. In fact it even seems I've shrunk to 5'9" from 5'10" over the last two years... and I'm only 32!!! Crikey!!!

    You're looking great mate,

    Scotty
Before you judge someone be sure to walk a mile in their kilt.
That way you are at least a mile away and you have their kilt...
