Great minds think alike. My beautiful Freelander Sporran is black and brown. I thought it would be perfect to go with either brown or black shoes and belt.
I'll be putting up the photos next week and let the rabble decide if they agree.

Thumbs up especially on the casual look. Oxblood shoes go particularly well with the charcoal hose IMHO.

Maybe it's just me, but I think the saffron is a difficult kilt to accessorise. I think the sporran works well with the kilt, even if as others have said it would normally be seen as a little more formal.

Me, I'm a sporran chicken: I only have one plain black sporran for everything!

The whole "leathers should match" thing has pretty much been covered, although in general, I like the brown shoes with that kilt.

I've seen oxford-type shoes with both black and brown leather - Something like that would keep you covered regardless of belt and sporran.

In the first 2 pictures the shoes and socks are dressier than the shirt, so it looks awkward. And if you're going to wear one thing with tartan, don't make it the flashes.

Personally I like the combo, with just a few points though. As has been said, match the leathers. In my eye, the shoes and sporran are a bit too dressy for the rest of the outfit.

I know you said the shirt is a faded black. However, unlike some, I kind of like the navy appearance with the saffron (at least on my monitor). A good rule though, is to try to match your hose with your shirt. It just provides a sort of visual balance that way.

Overall though, you look great.
