    quick fix for a Freelander

Like many others here I am a proud owner of a Freelander Sporran Unlike many others, I abuse mine I tend to overstuff. My Freelander gets a workout. I have on occasion overstuffed it & one or the other leather cords holding on the lid button has come untied :crap: I managed to get it tied back and then pulled it tight with a pair of needle nosed pliers. Then I put a drop of super glue on both knots. It has not come apart since. Long live the Freelander

I don't think that is an isolated incident. Happens to me quite often. I am actually going to replace my orm with a modified Brotherhood of the Kilt kilt pin.

I'm guilty of overstuffing my Freelander too and snapped one of the cords but I managed to find a shoelace in a matching colour to replace it.

I have had no problem with mine at all. It has taken a beating so far and has not shown the slightest wear yet.

It was the short cord at the very top which attaches the pointy antler to the circular sporran lid which broke. It just snapped off suddenly when I was walking along the street. This is the sporran after repair with a shoelace.

Just out of curiosity, what do you guys define as "a lot of stuff"? In my Craige sporan, I commonly carry wallet, keys, cell phone, lighter (I don't smoke, but sometimes, it's useful to have fire), fountain pen, data stick, coin pouch, and magnetic hiking compass (a habit I picked up in NYC, when I sometimes needed it, coming out of a subway in an unfamiliar neighborhood). Is that "a lot of stuff"?

I would say thats alot of stuff as for me my alot of stuff in a freelander is:
    My wallet,
    3 sets of keys,
    my Motoq,
    my ipod,
    money,
    a digital camera,
a coupon book to Tim Horton's,
a gift card for future shop,
    and my kilt passport.
