    Shoes with kilts

I have the Black watch kilt and black hose and day sporran.
I'm planning on wearing my kilt to church next week.
I plan to wear a white dress shirt, and wondered if my black dress shoes that I wear with my dress pants would work.
    Thanks!

Yes, typically any dress shoe that's appropriate with trousers should be appropriate with a kilt.

Absolutely the most correct choice - especially if they're shined up so that nobody can tell if they're patent or regular leather.

I would stay away from loafers, but prefer oxford ties, either cap toes or wing tips. You can never go wrong. If going to Scottish or Celtic festivals, I will wear a plain oxford tie up with good rubber soles, like the Rockport. Of course shined up to the max. Unless the weather is bad I will wear waterproof ankle boots. I am not one to wear work boat of boats over the ankle.

At formal Scottish events and dressing black or white tie, I wear Scottish buckle shoes by Thistle. Once and awhile I will wear Ghillies, but I do not have the up the leg lacings, I cut them down so they tie normally, just not my style.

I try to keep it simple.
