I have had clothing issues for some time now. I am planning on purchasing a nice jacket to wear to formal events(Bonnie Prince Charlie or ???). My question is has anyone else had trouble getting a jacket in LARGER sizes and if yes how did you resolve this ongoing problem. I would normally wear a 50 regular but might be a bit larger as I have really been hitting the gym to prepare for the Highland Games this year. I have always had sleeves to short or couldn't get the darn coat done up around the chest. Just thought I would throw it out there.

You'll probably have to get one made to order. Lowest price around $250 and up. There are places on the web that cater to it and I'd guess it'll likely run you close to $350 to get a proper fit

I may be able to help. It depends on how soon you will need it.
My best friend owns a small sewing factory.
He is going to let me pay one of his employees to
tailor one for me. I'm a 48R so it will not
talk much to more to make a 50 or 52.
I hope to do this over the next month.
If it comes in a good bit lower than what I’m seeing here I will let you know.

I don't really know of a specific button needed for one. I would just go with what looks good. I have some nice silver celtic knotwork buttons laying around for whenever I get around to my PC jacket. Also, I notice you're in NC. Might be worth a trip to Mary Jo's, one of the best fabric stores in the country. It's at the soutwestern tip of NC somewhere.
