Sporran Shedding
I have an old Gordon Highlander's piper sporran which is losing the white horsehair. I know this can be fixed, but does anyone have an idea of how much? L & M does repair on these.
Is this a DIY project or something better left to professionals.
Additional dumb question. Do I need to save the shedding hair?

LOL! My badger-mask sporran sheds, too. I bought a lint brush to deal with the leavings on the kilt. It really shows on the Black Watch tartan. I don't wear my horsehair much, so I cannot answer your question.

Maybe you could contact L&M and ask them? Since they offer the service?

I agree with Bradley. I've heard you can slow shedding on regular "fur" by freezing them but I'm no expert.
Cowards die many times before their deaths; the valiant never taste of death but once. Of all the wonders I yet have heard, it seems to me most strange that men should fear; seeing that death, a necessary end, will come when it will come. --William Shakespeare, Julius Caesar

I hear Rogaine works for some hides, but it did nothing for me.

I'd take bradley's advice.

I am amazed with the amount of pipers here that no one has dealt with this issue, but contact L&M sounds like a good idea.

That would suck to have a bald badger.

I take Buddy for a quarterly grooming at PetSmart. He really digs it.
