Sporrans and Cross country skiing

I've read a few threads here about cross country skiing but I haven't seen one that addresses my question. Should I wear my leather day sporran?? I've never worn my kilt without one but I'm concerned about the, um, bouncing of the sporran.

I bought a soft leather casual sporran on eBay but it hasn't yet arrived. I could use a fanny pack (Brits laugh here) instead. Thoughts?

I've been on skis a couple of times kilted, and I just twist the sporran off to the side. Works for me.

James is right you can just twist it, although I think the waist-pack might work better. Holds more too.

I've worn a sporran, I've downhilled and xcountry skied... but never both.

Well the temperature is going up to -7C (12F) tomorrow so I don't know how I could possibly pass up the opportunity!

The sporran was just fine. At least a dozen people asked questions; mostly "aren't you cold?".
One guy asked "how can you ski in that??". He was wearing blue jeans.
