Stillwater Pleats

I was just wondering if anyone here has sewn down the pleats of a Stillwater standard. I know they will never hang like a traditional, but does it help if you do this?

I started to but my sewing machine didn't want to cooperate. I'm going to have a friends who's a seamstress do it for me. The one that I did manage to sew came out very nice.

That material will wander, curve, and twist itself all over the place if you restrict the weave! It's far too broad to try to control it. If you DO wind-up doing that, you'll iron it out... and it will look pretty good. Give it ten minutes of movement, and you'll have a MESS. Don't even try it, or you'll just be throwing away your money!!!

I would starch things before I would sew them. That sway is too important to the look.;)
