| | | A tartan similar to the Classic Barbour Tartan
Does Anybody know a tartan similar to the Classic Barbour Tartan? It is a corporate tartan and seemingly not available. You find a pattern in my personal gallery: http://www.xmarksthescot.com/forum/a...hp?pic_id=1215

Woldgang,
Take a look at the Australian and Ulster tartans.

Whilst looking through the tartan books last night, I discovered another similar tartan, the weathered Robertson hunting tartan.

Thank you by then. Alas the mentioned tartans are not realy similar to the Classic Barbour. I fancy the combination of blue an brown.

If you like Blue and brown the A Hunting Frazer is a miz of blue and brown It is more Blue then Brown, but it does mix those colors
I have that tartan in my gallery it looks black but it is a brown color, dark brown.

My tip: If you really want that tartan, have someone weave it. It may cost a bit more, but in my experience I'd rather pay a bit more for a kilt that I'm going to really enjoy wearing than pay a bit less for a kilt that I don't really want.
For custom weaves, give Peter MacDonald a call. http://www.scottishtartans.co.uk/
He can provide the cloth in any tartan you want, and can also connect you with a kilt maker if you need.
