Is this too long?

I'd say a touch too long, the kilt should hit at the top of the knee to mid knee at the lowest.

Yes, it does look a little too long. Where are you placing the top edge of the kilt? The top edge of a traditional kilt should be about 2 inches above your natural waist.

It looks like you wear your kilt right where I do. I HAVE to wear at least at mid knee or a little below. It looks fine to me, but I would guess the more traditional wearers would agree with what the previous two people have said.

I think it's a bit long, but I also think it's a bit low on your waist.

I would pull it an inch or two, but leave the belt right where it is.

Agreeing with McMurdo here. Of course, if the camera was not to far from you and held at head height by the photographer, then it's a down-angle to your knees and it's going to make the kilt look a bit longer to us that it actually is... but IMHO, you want to show more knee and it does appear that you could be wearing the kilt a bit higher which would accomplish that nicely.
