    USA Kilts PV fabric info?

I'm thinking on getting one of Rocky's Semi-Traditionals - I know he uses 11oz PV and I wonder how it compares with the Stillwater Standard acrylic fabric in weight and feel - or to wool for that matter...

Any help would be greatly appreciated!

    THANKS!

All I can speak to is that the PV is a thinner weave, I presume because the fibers are smaller. PV is not as warm as acrylic but I've not had any problems with high 30's temps in Georgia. There is also no "fuzz" in PV material, keeps everything looking nice and crisp.

The weave is a lot tighter in PV, and like Cavscout said it doesnt fuzz up all over. It is thinner than acrylic, but a lot sharper looking, and it keeps the colors a lot brighter than acrylic does. As far as the kilts, the semi trad is custom made kilt, and its gonna fit a lot nicer than a Stillwater. You will love it!!

    Phil,

The PV material and the SWK acrylic are very different materials. I like the PV Rocky uses, but was a bit surprised when I received it. The only kilts I had seen prior to that were my Sportkilt and my SWK standard and SWK heavyweight. I expected something with the same material thicnkess and texture. PV is not. The material has weight, and warmth, but is much thinner, think more like a good, thick, quality sheet. I hope that does not sound bad. I think that semi-trad in regards to a USAK refers to where the kilt is worn not the material.
