Vests and kilts

Hey all,

I have a Clan Anderson (Modern) tartan tank and the concern I have is the vest. I would like to wear the kilt with a nice long sleeve white dress shirt and a vest. Which color vest and when would it be appropriate to wear this setup? Would you consider it semi-dressy or casual? Thanks for the advice.

I found a GREAT vest source

http://www.newjerseypiper.com/vests.html
I ordered 2 and have yet to receive them, but with the custom pewter buttons from 3 Feathers (Thats MR.3Feathers....Inside joke)-From the looks of the pics-This seems to be great. Hope my lead helps-Josh

I wear a vest with a comfy shirt almost everyday-Its the ULTIMATE, cool casual look!

That is a copy I made of a Harry Lauder sporran I saw in person last year in San Francisco.

NorCalPiper, excellent demonstration on how to properly wear a belt with your waistcoat, despite the fact that some say it can't be done! (I do it as well )

You can also always wear a black 5 button argyle vest. Argyle vests are usually available in a few colors, such as lovat green, etc. You can also experience the wonders of tweed! It's really a matter of personal choice.

I have worn a kilt belt ever since I was a child. Plus, I LOVE the glint of a little silver peeking out. The only time I wont wear a belt is with a Prince Charlie.

Or have some fun with a matching tartan vest.
