wearing a kilt not as easy as it once was

I have been wearing my kilt (mostly on weekends) for about a year now, When i first wore it I was nervous as hell but quickly became accustomed to wearing it and came to quite enjoy it. Now it feels like i wear it too much and people are tired of seeing me in it...I have even started noticing the "snickers" and looks and now I am starting to feel self concious about it again....

What the heck is up with that? Anyone else expericence this?????

I can only say that I wear my kilt because I want to, not in response to what others may think or say - good or ill.
In other words, I wear it for ME.
After over three years of wearing the kilt full time I can say that the delight has not worn off.
Friends and townsfolk are well used to seeing me kilted, and I consider that a bonus. There will always be idiots who snicker and make remarks, hey, that's human nature!

I wouldn't be concerned, you want YOU want when you want it, you are not harming anyone.

Not so far, course I've been kilted, evenings and weekends for only about 4 months. For me the biggest thing is wanting more tartans, for my own personal variety.

Maybe you just need to add to the collection?

Kilts are distinctive, and maybe your admirers need to see a variety as well. If you were wearing blue j**ns nobody would otice when you wore them two days on a row.

Just a thought....

I absolutly love wearing my kilt and wore it this weekend out to several places...I go out to dinner and movies and have been very confident and have loved the good attentiona and the questions.

And yes...I do need to add to my collection!

Yes--mix the look up, like hose up or down, more daring color combinations, a new pin or belt. Or, dare I mention, a new kilt? Variety is the spice of life!

Since you are new here give us some pics and a little more info about you kilt wearing. If you are wearing the same kilt all the time it may be people noticing that as opposed to them having a problem with you wearing one.

That is just what I was going to say. Very few picked up that svhunter is new. Welcome from the Upper Peninsula of Michigan. Yes, we always like pictures.

And while you are introducing yourself a bit more, like where are you from, you could also tell us why are you hunting for sv's, what ever they are. ha ha

And maybe they are so used to you in a kilt that they just go about their every day conversations and are not really snickering at you, or they are just getting jealous that you are so confident in what you wear and that they don't have the guts to wear a kilt.

I think you have to understand that you're not wearing your kilt for them.
