What do you reckon about these boots?

    Hi guys,

Currently I only ever really wear my kilt for formal occasions and thus only really wear it with my ghillie brogues. I'm wanting to wear my kilt more often in day to day wear and was wondering your opinion on wearing my RM's with it. For all you non Australians (ie: most of you) this is what RM's look like.

    Cheers

I think those would work, remember to scrunch your hose down with them and they should be fine. Why not try a picture with a kilt and them on then I am sure you will get comments.

Seeing as there is no-one around to take a photo I have tried to take these two myself. Have't really come out that well although it gives you abit of an idea. Still not sure on them. Maybe different coloured hose?

They look like the boots that officers in Scottish regiments wear with their trews.

With that tartan, and excellent choice of Rugby shirt I would say you could go for navy or purple hose. I have done it before with the Scottish Rugby Jersey and my x-marks, and Isle of Skye kilts, it will look great.

I forgot to say you could check here for different coloured hose, I have used them before and they get them to me in about a week. While they are not the most luxurious hose on the market they are good value for the money.

Cheers for that McMurdo. I will give the darker hose a go.

My Scotland jersey is my only option at the moment (one of my favorite jerseys). I'm too embarrassed to wear my wallabies jersey.

I wear Blundstones (similar looking boot with a rubber sole) with my kilts and with shorts for all that matters. I think they're cool.

Looks good to me. I think those boots work just fine.
.. the kilt had concealed a blaster strapped to one thigh and a knife to the other. He was aware of the present gentle customs against personal weapons, but he felt naked without them. Such customs were nonsense anyhow, foolishment from old women - there was no such thing as "dangerous weapons," only dangerous people.

I agree with the comments above about how good the boots look - go with them. no problems.

As well as 'proper' kilt hose in dark colours, consider also some of the socks sold to be worn with hiking boots - these can team well with boots for the casual look.

I'd say the sporran you have in the photo is really quite a dressy one, and you might want to keep it for best/formal occasions only. Consider a plainer leather 'hunting' sporran or 'day' sporran to go with the look also.

Enjoy wearing your kilt out and about - I know I do!

    Best regards
