I considered a SportKilt for a few minutes, then remembered the time Jerry spent with me on the phone. Stillwater Kilts is only fifteen miles from my house. Buying local and supporting Jerry is a must. Question is, standard or heavyweight? Wearing to school, out to casual dinners and occasionally to the store to get bread and eggs, etc.

Then a sizing question for the thousands who own these garmets. Navel measures a 51. So it seems a 52" would be too big (and web site says it is adjusted tight) and a 50 might do the trick. Does the 48 adjust well for a 51 tummy?

Your advice please. Standard or Heavyweight?

in my experience Jerrys kilts are sized small, in other words I am a 37 and a 38 is S N U G! hope this helps...

If you can get a Heavyweight in your size I'd go for it. Superior material (wool vs acrylic). While all SWK are good values, I'm not a fan of the acrylic as it tends to pill.

From a fellow GoS, go for the 52". It is much easier to adjust straps in than out and if you can swing it, go for the heavyweight.

If Jerry's minutes away, go get the kilt and try it on. If it fits, you leave happy. If it's too roomy, get the smaller size and leave happy. I'm surprised Jerry didn't bring a 50 and a 52 by the house shortly after your wife gave you the green light.

And get the heavyweight. The standard is fine, but wool is...well...wool.
