Emailed Kathy and just got a response back. I'll be getting a sample swatch from Lochcarron. She's going to check to see if she has one. If not she'll order one for me.

WhooHoo
I placed my order with Kathy last week for my MacDuff Ancient Hunting in 16 oz Strome and all of the goodies to go with it.
Luckily I was able to drive down to see her and meet her. Kathy is a true professional who is a pleasure to work with.
One of the reasons I enjoy Kathy so much is that she is so knowledgeable, and although diplomatic, is not afraid to share her personal opinions.
Best of luck to you!
Can't wait to hear the final decision and see the photos!

Just got my samples in from Kathy.
The Modern

I figured while she was getting me a sample of the modern to go ahead and get me one of the weathered.

Either one is great. Personally, I lean toward the weathered colors...very tasteful.

You know, as I was wandering around in the Scottish Tartans Museum in beautiful Franklin, NC... (yes I had a great visit, pics to come)...
I learned that there are two Texas Bluebonnet tartans, modern and ancient. I've only seen the ancient (lots of white) and had never seen the modern (little white and more dark blue).

This time it will be the Modern but both my wife and I like the weathered so it's definitely on the list.

If your interested in "Fashion" tartans, (No clan affiliation, and open to anyone to wear.) might I suggest "Isle of Skye". A favorite of many a X marker.
