I don't believe that adding acrylic to wool hose, if you're talking about such a blend, will make them any more durable than pure wool would be, in fact I rather think it would be the opposite. Synthetics break down and/or fade in sunlight or the wash compared to wool, and wool is a lot more resistant to many chemicals as well. Also, I remember from the Falklands War that synthetics were found to melt against the skin and cling just like napalm... well, let's just say I don't like them. If your concern is that wool can't be put in the washer and dryer with your jeans, just don't do that. Simply rinsing a wool garment in cold water takes out most of the dirt and all of the smell it might have picked up, and if you add a specialized cleaner like Woolite or Zero, a few squeezes and an air drying cleans them up as well as anything. Just don't put wool in the dryer. That's my personal two cents and I don't even own any sheep!
