I, personally, would never wear a kilt to an interview unless I was trying for a job in a scottish store. I waited for a social environment to spring the kilt on the unknowing folks I work with. The Company Party. My MacRae USA Kilt, Argyll and matching tie. Now every one knows me.
Still, out, standing in my field.
Never do anything that you would not want to explain to the paramedics.

    I think not

I would not wear my kilt to a job interview unless it was relevant to the job required. I have to admit it is only appropriate to wear a kilt in a non working environment.
Most companies including mine want a commitment to the vacancy and willingness to be part of a Team - wearing kilt sends out a mixed view on commitment.
Even in Scotland few businesses require emplyees to wear a kilt so even there it would not be adviable for an interview.

Ok, maybe I should explain my position. I am in product development. I have 6 patents. Being in product development requires innovative, thinking outside the box, not afraid to take a chance, buck the norm (rebelious?). To me it sounds like a scotsman. Did you know that 10% of all nobel prizes have gone to scotsman?

So, should a product development engineer be a conformist? Isn't that against what is required for new development? Just asking.

The only time I would wear a kilt on an interview was if it was...a phone interview
