    1920s Forsyth catalogue

If you scan Ebay for antique sporrans like I do you've come across old Forsyth sporrans many a time.

So it was very interesting recently to see a Forsyth catalogue from the 1920s up on Ebay. I put in a fairly high bid but didn't win it.

Here are the photos the seller posted:

I have seen the exact lower-left sporran for sale on Ebay.

Here's a lovely Forsyth sporran which was sold on Ebay a while back:

Very nice! I love the use of the day plaid(s), very elegant. I think I will start wearing mine again...naturally with my cromach as well!

What an astounding variety! While I find the sporrans very attractive, I especially liked the various options in shoe buckles and the powder horns. Two things that you don't see very often these days!

Thanks for sharing - I love the various catalogue pictures that you provide, they add a great deal to the discussion and have helped me to understand "how it's done" on more than one occasion.
