The brass cantle in the sporran I'm pictured wearing is not MOD. As David indicated, that one was acquired via personal trade, and I had my personal sporran maker (what, don't you have a personal sporran maker?) replace the thin leather bag on it with a more substantial deerskin bag.

The two I mentioned that I am having made currently are MOD cantles and both were purchased about the same time on Ebay. I had been keeping my eye open for old MOD brass cantled sporrans on Ebay for some time, probably a couple of years, and then saw three listed at once. I had a maximum amount in mind I wanted to spend and was lucky enough to snag two of them.

Just keep your eye open and be patient. One piece of advice; make sure to search ebay.co.uk and ebay.ca as well as ebay.com.
