Caledonian Ball

I don't know if videos can be posted here ( and if they can be, I just might not know how! ) but here is an interesting news clip from the Royal Caledonian Ball in London, sometime in the 1950's One can make out some well dressed Scots, including officers of the Atholl Highlanders and the Black Watch.

Didn't work! I'll try to figure something else out and will keep you posted!

Sandy, videos can be accessed through photobucket just like photos, only take a bit longer to upload to their site.

Ok, I figured out how to upload a video to YouTube!

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=fLptG-dhus8

A few things to notice:
1. NO WHITE HOSE
2. No fly plaids (except on the drummers)
3. Jabots
4. Black Watch (RHR) and Atholl Highlanders officers in mess dress
5. The difference between social, party reeling and RSCDS reeling.

Sorry the quality isn't better, but it is a fun clip nonetheless!

Nice video. Those days were more elegant than today's times.
