    Question How to stich a Feileadh Mor together?

    Does anyone have information that will help me to stitch my Feileadh Mor together. I have the 7 yards of tartan and now need to cut it in half and stitch it together but am not actually sure which is the correct method for doing this so that the stitches do not look bad. Can any of you help me with this?
    thanks for your help.

    Have you "practiced" by pleating it and putting it on with a belt? You may want to see earlier threads that discuss the best length, internal drawstrings, etc. Am I correct that the Feiladh Mor is also known as the Great Kilt? You might want to search it that way. Offhand, I do not know that you need to stitch anything, if you are starting with "double width" tartan fabric. If you are talking about single width that you want to make into double width, I assume you would want an overlap of a couple of inches, with a double row of stitching, ideally with the edge felled or turned under somehow, especially on the outside. It might help to restate your question, but do use the search feature and see "great kilt" in several threads, here and in the historical forum. Good Luck

    If I'm understanding you correctly a simple ladder stitch should work well.

    It does not discuss the sewing, but here's a good guide;
